Business succession planning is a subset of our estate planning services. After a death occurs in the family, the named executor will seek an attorney to guide the estate through probate. The Law Offices of Kennedy & Jackson offers effective and cost-efficient probate administration services. Our law firm also represents interested parties in intestacy (no will) cases.
When a person dies without a will in Texas, this is referred to as dying intestate. In cases like this, the state of Texas has laws that will determine who receives the deceased person’s assets. All potential heirs must go through an heirship determination process, to prove their relationship to the deceased. A properly prepared estate plan can eliminate much of the cost and time associated with intestate succession.
